Producing Drawings

You can generate an unfolded view of a part with bends (bends, walls on edge, flat bends and swept walls) and stamps in a drawing sheet.

Bend Tangency Lines, axes of bends and swept walls, as well as the lines stamp are displayed within the drawing.

Before you begin:
  • Make sure that the Generate axis option is selected in the Me > Preferences > Mechanical > Drafting > View tab.
  • Make sure that you have an appropriate Drafting license. For more information about this app, see Drafting User's Guide.
  • Open a 3D shape containing Sheet Metal features.

Cases when generated an unfolded view of a Sheet Metal part in a drawing sheet is not possible
  1. Select Add > Drawing.
    A drawing sheet appears in a new tab.
  2. From the View Layout section of the action bar, click Unfolded View .
    Important: This icon is active provided you have a Sheet Metal Design license.
  3. Choose a plane in the tree.
    A preview of the view is displayed in the drawing.
  4. Click in the drawing to validate the view creation.
    The unfolded view is displayed with the planar axes, BTLs of bends, and stamps representation.
