Creating Walls from a Sketch

You can create a wall from a sketch.

Before you begin: Define the Sheet Metal parameters. See Managing the Default Parameters.

  1. From the Model section of the action bar, click Positioned Sketch and select the xy plane.
  2. From the Sketch section of the action bar, click Profile .
  3. Sketch a profile as shown below:


  4. Click Exit app to return to the 3D area.
  5. From the Model section of the action bar, click Wall .
  6. Select the profile positioning option:
    OptionDescription
    Bottom Sets the sketch at the bottom position of the wall thickness.
    Middle Sets the sketch at the middle position of the wall thickness.
    Top Sets the sketch at the top position of the wall thickness.
  7. To offset the wall, enter a value in the Offset box or drag the manipulator in the 3D area.

    By default, there is no offset and the value is set to 0mm.

  8. Optional: Select one or more faces to create a connection in the Connect to box.
    Note: The first wall of the Sheet Metal Design body is known as the reference wall.
