Editing Custom Attributes

You can edit some of the details that define custom attributes. You can only edit attributes that were created using the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center.

Warning: Only edit custom attributes before inviting users to the 3DEXPERIENCE platform, and before any content is created. For more information, see Process for Adding Custom Attributes.

  1. Open the Collaborative Spaces Configuration Center widget. For more information, see Widgets to Configure Content and Business Rules.
  2. In the menu in the left pane, click Attributes Management.
  3. Click the type of content that has the custom attributes defined.
The panes slide to show the list of content types in the left pane, and the table of existing attributes in the right pane.
  4. Click Edit attribute on the row for the attribute you want to edit.
The dialog box that opens is similar to the one used to create the attribute.
  5. Edit the required details of the attribute.

You cannot change any of these details:

    • Type (Length)
    • Name
    • Dimensions
    • 6W Predicate

If the attribute type is Real, you can change the Preferred Unit for the attribute (but not the dimension).

For the list of authorized values, these rules apply:

    • You can add additional authorized values.
    • You cannot remove individual authorized values, but you can remove ALL authorized values. If you do so, apps change this attribute from a select list to a text box.
    • If there are no authorized values and the attribute has been deployed, you cannot add any authorized values.

  6. Click OK.
  7. Click Apply.
