Managing Space Hierarchy

You can add one or more cutting elements, cutting element families, and external volumes to the space hierarchy from the space manager.


Before you begin:
  • Open an existing space structure with published space cells.
  • Create new cutting elements and families.
  • Create a new external volume and set it in the space manager.

  1. From the Operations section of the action bar, click Space Hierarchy Manager .
  2. In the tree, select the destination under the space hierarchy as follows:
    • Select a cutting element family if you want to add newly created cutting elements.
    • Select the Cutting Elements node if you want to add newly created cutting families.
    • Select the External SpaceSet node if you want to add a new external volume.
      Important: You must remove the previous volume and then add a new one.
    • Select the space hierarchy if you want to transfer all the elements available under space manager to the space hierarchy.
    The Cutting Elements, the Cutting Families, the External Volume, or the Space Manager dialog box appears according to the destination selection.
  3. Select the corresponding elements under the space manager and click OK.
    The selected elements are added to the space hierarchy.
    Note: You can also remove cutting elements and cutting elements families available under the space hierarchy.
  4. In the tree, right-click the space hierarchy node and select Publish/Update.
    The new space cells are published and the space references are generated.
    Note: You can reorder the cutting element families under the space hierarchy. To do that, right-click the Cutting Elements node and select Cutting Elements object > Reorder Children.
