Specifying the Top and Bottom Faces of Design Space References

You can specify the top and bottom faces of a design space reference using surfaces.


Before you begin:
  1. Create design space references. For more information, see Publishing Space Cells.
  2. Create surfaces in contact with the top and bottom faces of the space references.

  1. From the Operations section of the action bar, click Top and Bottom Faces .
  2. In the Top and Bottom Faces panel,
    1. Under the Design Space References area, select the space references.

      Tip: You can select a physical product to select all design space references available under it.

    2. Under the Floor Surfaces area, select the surfaces.

      Notes:
      • You can select 2D features such as surfaces, planes, cutting elements, and so on.
      • The selected surface must be in contact with the face of the space reference.



        • : Top surface
        • : Space reference
        • : Bottom surface

      • Only the face that is in contact with the surface is considered as the bottom or top face of the space.



        • : Design space reference
        • : Surfaces
        • : Bottom face
        • : Top face

  3. Click Apply.
    • The surfaces are set as top and bottom surfaces to the corresponding space references, and are listed in the Top Surfaces and Bottom Surfaces columns.
    • The top and bottom surfaces are saved as attributes in the space reference and are used to recognize the top and bottom faces of the space reference.
