Adding and Updating a Value Added Category

You can create value added categories to add to codes in the time analyses.

This task shows you how to:

Add the Value Added Category

Describes how to add value added categories to a time analysis.

  1. Select Me > Preferences > Manufacturing Planning > Time-Motion Study > Value Added tab.
  2. Click the Enable Value Added Category check box.
    The New Value Added Category and Remove Value Added Category is available.
  3. Click New Value Added Category .
    A new row appears.
  4. Add a Name, Short Name, select a Color and enter the VA%.

  5. Click OK.
    The entered values and categories save.
  6. Select an operation and then click Create Time Analysis .
    The Time Analysis dialog box appears.
  7. Enter the name and description of the time analysis. Select the subsystem (Applicable only to a single handed process such as MEK, UAS, and STD) and click OK.
  8. In the resulting Time Analysis Details dialog box, the value added categories are listed in the Value Added column.
  9. Double-click the Value Added cell to display the data selections.

Update the Value Added Data

You can update the value added information.

  1. Go to Me > Preferences > Manufacturing Planning > Time-Motion Study > Value Added tab.
  2. Change accordingly and click OK.
  3. Click Update Value Added Category and select an operation.
    The Update Value Added Category dialog box appears with the Value Added Category. It appears to show the changes in the Value Added Category as in the Time Analysis and as in the Repository.
  4. Click OK.
