Customizing Preferences

You can customize preferences for Time-Motion Study.

  1. From the top bar, select Me > Preferences, and then click the All Preferences tab.
  2. In the left-hand pane, expand Simulation, and then Manufacturing Planning.
  3. Select Time-Motion Study.
  4. In the right-hand pane, expand the section corresponding to the options for customizing.

Options in this tab... Allow you to customize...
GTE General Time Element (GTE) standard time analysis system: Used for Generic purposes only and could use to sum up other time analysis using their own codes.
General Aspects of the UI and the window display.
Single and Small Batch Production - MEK Measure Economical Kind (MEK) standard time analysis system: Is a building block system that you can use for both basic and standard operations. Use for small number of items and single unit production as well as other infrequently performed tasks previously considered too costly or difficult to measure.
Maynard Operation Sequence Technique - MOST Maynard Operation Sequence Technique (MOST) standard time analysis system: Is optimal for short processes with only small hand motions.
Note: When migrating from E5, use the old format by changing the environment variable DEL_SHOW_OPTION_FOR_MOST_FORMATS.

In the MOST Time Motion Study, when a partial frequency (PF) applies to a part of a sequence, show it by appending "-" and then the PF. You have the option to display it with brackets (A1B1G1) A1B1P1A1 3 by changing the environment variable.

Methods-Time Measurement 1 - MTM1 MTM1 (Method Time Measurement One) standard time analysis system: This analyzes the methods used to perform any manual operation or task and, as a byproduct of that analysis, define the standard time in which a worker can complete that task.
Methods-Time Measurement 2 - MTM2 MTM2 (Method Time Measurement Two) standard time analysis system: Same as MTM1 but for longer work cycles.
Ready Work Factor - RWF RWF (Ready Work Factor) standard time analysis system: An elemental time system for compiling time standards to establish the expected productivity of the human when performing useful manual and mental work.
Standard Allowed Minute - SAM SAM (Sequence-based Activity Method) standard time analysis system: This is a synthetic system that measures manual type of work based on predefined sequential activities.
Stand from Sitting Position - STD STD (Standard Data) standard time analysis system: These are basic values derived from the MTM basic system. Use this hand system for products with a high number of items.
Universal Analyzing System -UAS Universal Analyzing System (UAS) standard time analysis system: Is a building block system that uses both the basic and standard operations. This system is for use in environments that exhibit the characteristics of batch production.
MODular Arrangement of Predetermined Time Standards - MODAPTS Modular Arrangement of Predefined Time Standard (MODAPTS): These generally apply to repetitive tasks with short to medium-length cycle times. MODAPTS calculates the time it takes to complete a job when working at a standard pace. It also acts as the foundation for methods analysis and workplace optimization, and measures time used in Line Balancing and Job costing by providing direct labor minutes.
Value Added Value Added Category system: A feature that does not depend on the STM or the calculated values, and is applicable only to a single hand process such as the Universal Analyzing System and Standard Data.
