You can use this to create the formula in the Editor.
Right-click a line in the table that has a time analysis. Click
Formula Editor from the menu.
This opens the
Formula and Parameter Editor dialog box.
Double-click
Add new arguments in the
Argument list to create new parameters.
Provide the Name and Type for the
parameter. Specify In or Out in the In/Out dialog.
Provide a formula in the dialog box.
Click
Syntax Error
.
To verify for errors.
Click
OK.
The line is now highlighted in the
Time Analysis dialog box.
Note:
You can customize the background color of the line with the
formula in
Preferences > Manufacturing Planning >
Time-Motion Study > General.
Using the Parameter Editor, Adding a Picture for a Formula
You can use this to change the Parameter values and add a
picture in the editor.
Right-click a line in the table that has a time analysis.
Click
Parameter Editor from the menu.
The
Parameter Value Editor dialog box opens.
Provide different values for Input Parameters.
Select:
Picture (default) - The inserted
picture appears.
Formula - The formula appears.
None - Nothing appears.
In the case of the template line, there is only one picture. In the case of the
reused line, pictures associated with all template lines and current lines
appear one below the other. A picture on the current line is in the top
followed by the pictures of the template lines. Select Current
formula or template formula using the
option next to the label Line/Formula No: the picture
associated with that particular formula appears.
Click
Apply then
OK.
The line is updates and the code cell is empty.
Using Search to Filter the Parameters of a String
You can search and filter a parameter based on a string for a
value when there are a large number of parameters.
Select All Formulas we see all the parameters
expand for each formula and the All Parameters.
Selecting this option, we show all the parameters without
duplicating the common parameters. The common parameters have different
values the parameters names are shown with * appended
at the end for easier identification. There are no expand for each formula.
Specify the value for a common parameter and the same uses in all formulas
and calculates.
Enter a string and click
Filter
.
Only the parameters containing this string appear. There is also one more
Sort Push command to sort the parameters. By
default the parameters appears in ascending order. Click to display the parameters in
descending order and the icon updates. Clicking this, the parameters display
by a formula order, and the icon updates to .
Using the Existing Time Analysis
You can use this to add an existing Time Analysis to another
Time Analysis.
Right-click a line in the table.
Click
Insert Existing from the menu.
Select the object or enter the object name in the search bar.
The line updates with the selected Time Analysis object.
Add a Time Analysis to a Catalog
You can add a
Time Analysis template to a catalog.
ClickAdd > Content > Catalog
> Catalog
from the main menu.
A new catalog creates.
Right-click the catalog and select
Insert > New Chapter.
This opens the
Catalog Chapter dialog box.
Click
OK.
Right-click new chapter created, Chapter3.
Click
Insert > Insert Existing Object from the menu.
Select the time analysis object.
The Chapter3 updates with the time analysis object.
Reordering Time Analysis Lines
You can define predefined values for a parameter and can select one of the predefined
values in the Parameter Value editor panel.
Click Play to watch the video:
Right-click a line in the table that has a time analysis formula and
parameters.
Selecting a panel, Set Enumerated values dialog box appears. Which
have all input (IN type) parameters of a line in a list and you can
select any of them to provide possible values for that particular
parameter in another list?
Search - Give the Parameter name to
filter the parameters. This is useful when there are too many
parameters defined on the line.
Select the parameter on the left side. The predefined parameter
values display if defined.
Add - Use to add a value given in the
field as a possible parameter value.
Remove - Use to remove an existing
parameter value from the list.
Arrows - Use to move parameter value up
in the list and to move parameter value down in the list.
Import - Use to import predefined values
from other lines, of the same time analysis, if the same
parameter name exists. (we search in all lines of current lines
except the selected line)
In the Parameter editor, the parameters, which have a predefined
group of values is shown as combinations with predefined values.
You can only select one of those.
In the case of the reused time analysis, all the parameters of IN type
(parameters of reused TA + selected line) are shown on the
set enumerated values panel. Modify the
values again on the reused line, which are applicable to that particular
line only.
Note:
When reused TA is expanded, the set enumerated
values panel on expanded lines shows the values of
source (parent) Time analysis. Modifying the values on expanded lines is
not a valid scenario, as expand is for view purposes only.
Using Remove Formula and Parameters
You can use this to remove the existing formula and parameters.
Right-click a line in the table that has a time analysis formula and
parameters.
Click
Remove Formula and Parameters from the menu.
