This task shows you how to unlock an object or branch.
If you check out a file with a lock and then decide that you do
not need to edit the file, you can cancel your check out using the
Cancelling a Checkout.
Release the lock on
a modulebranch using the Unlock command. For module members, Cancel is typically
used to release the lock on a module member.
Note:
Removing a lock held by another user is usually a restricted operation and is not currently supported by the DSclipse interface. If you need to release a lock held by another user, and have permission to do so, use one of the other clients provided for DesignSync, such as dssc or the DesignSync GUI interface.
You can select these types of data for the unlock operation:
A module branch or version.
Note:
You can select multiple
objects to unlock within a single unlock operation.
Before you begin:
The
DesignSync server must be running.
You have locked module branch populated into your workspace.
The unlock command begins processing the selected objects.
You release the lock on all selected items in the workspace. If you have made local modifications,
these persist unless you specify Force overwrite of local modifications. The decorations for the objects change to reflect the status of the objects.
