A pattern schema is the main document for a pattern conception. A pattern schema contains a root definition. A definition can be reused as a reference.

Pattern Schema

The pattern schema is the frame element. It must contain a root definition.

Definition

Definitions are used to organize or reuse patterns.

Important: One definition must be set as root to define the start point of the pattern matching. See Step 5 in Inserting a Pattern Definition.

Reference Definition

A definition can be used to reference another pattern. This enables you to reuse the referenced pattern in another pattern (occurrence, choice or statement, for instance).
