Inserting a Pattern Definition

In a pattern schema, you can create a pattern definition.

Note: Within a pattern definition, you can also create a reference pattern definition (to be reused anywhere) to organize or reuse patterns

Before you begin: Create a pattern schema. See Creating a Pattern Schema.
  1. Open a pattern schema.
  2. From the work area, click Switch to Edition mode .
  3. Click Create Definition .
  4. Enter a name.
  5. Optional: By default, the first definition is considered as a root (the starting point of the analysis). When creating an additional definition, if you want to define it as the starting point, select Root.
Definitions are identified with a blue background.

You can now insert patterns. See Inserting a Pattern.

You can now check or modify your pattern (see Modifying and Validating a Pattern), or apply your pattern (see Applying a Pattern to a Model or Document).
