Opening an Altium PCB Project

You can checkout and open an Altium PCB project along with its schematics, PCB, and any assigned physical assembly with product structure from 3DEXPERIENCE in Altium Designer.


Before you begin: Ensure that you are logged in to 3DEXPERIENCE.

  1. In Altium Designer, click 3DEXPERIENCE > Show 3DSearch.
    The 3DSearch dialog box opens in the browser.
  2. Search for the required object using a keyword, My Content, or Favorite Searches options.
  3. From the search results, select the required project and click Open or right-click required project and from it's context menu select Open With > Altium Designer.

    Tip: You can review the properties and relations of the selected Altium PCB object by clicking the icon in the search results.

    The selected object gets checked out and downloaded to the checkout directory specified in the Preferences.
    Note: If the Altium PCB Project does not exist, a new project folder gets created. It has the name of the CAD object and the project name with the title of the object. If the Altium PCB Project exists under the configured checkout directory, the entire project is overwritten.

The complete project along with its schematics, PCB, and any assigned physical assembly with the product structure are checked out from 3DEXPERIENCE and opened in Altium Designer.
