Associating a Dialog Box to a Type Instance

You can associate a dialog box with a technological object instance or to a user feature type.


Before you begin: You must have created a type.

  1. From the Compass, click 3D Modeling Apps , and select Know-how Apps User Experience.
    The Know-how Apps User Experience application opens.
  2. Click Create a dialog box.
    A DialogBox1 appears in the Preview tab.
  3. Create the layout of your Dialog Box.
  4. Click Associate a Dialog Box with a Technological Object and click DialogBox1 under the List of reusable Dialog components in the tree.
    The Manage User Defined Types to be edited dialog box opens.
  5. Expand the New User Defined Type scrolling list, select the type you created e.g. Skate, and click Add new type.
    The new type appears in the list of Manage User Defined types to be edited dialog box.
  6. Click Close.
    The dialog box you created is now associated with the type and will be displayed in the runtime view whenever the type it is associated with is applied.
