Editing Builds

In edit mode, you can make changes to existing builds or create new builds. You can also add or remove existing builds.

  1. From the page toolbar, click Enable Edit.
  2. You can edit multiple builds simultaneously using Mass Update, or use in-cell editing to make changes to individual fields. To use in-cell editing, click the cell you want to change and select or type the change you want to make. To use Mass Update:
    1. If you want to make changes only to certain items, first select the items.
    2. From the Mass Update menu, select the attribute you want to change.
      Depending on which attribute you choose, you will see one of the following: a text box, a list, a calendar, or a chooser.
    3. Select or type the change you want to make.
    4. Click Apply to Selected or Apply to All.

      The Name column includes to indicate which items have been changed. Changes are shown in the table cells in italics.

    You can make changes to the following columns:

    DescriptionModify the details about the build.
    Build Serial NumberModify the build serial number.
    Build DispositionSelect options from the drop down list. Possible values are:
    • Production
    • Shipped
    • Service
    • Inventory
    • N/A
    • Blank
    Shorthand NotationModify the shorthand notation.
    Planned Build DateClick the calendar icon to select the date on which the build is planned.
    Actual Build DateClick the calendar icon to select a date (after the Planned Build Date) to actually perform the build.
    Date ShippedClick the calendar icon to select a date (after the Actual Build Date) to ship the build to the customer or inventory location.

  3. From the page Actions menu or toolbar, click any of the following to work with builds.

    Create NewCreate a build. See Creating a Build
    Add ExistingSearch for and add a build that exists in the database to the marked part
    RemoveRemove selected builds. This removes the relationship between the build and the marked part. It does not delete the build from the database.
    Disable EditReturn to View mode. If you have made changes and have not saved them, a message is shown indicating that changes will be lost.
