Defining Business Values for a Single Entity

You can define or modify business values on any element (physical structure or EBOM, etc.) in Business Value Definition.

  1. Click the Compass and click the Business Value Definition app.
The app opens in the current dashboard.
  2. Optional: To verify the server status, click Check server status and select Dispatcher, ORPHEUS Controller Server or Semantic Graph Index .
You can see blue indicators when the status is valid, or gray indicators when it is not. A tooltip indicates what you should do or provides the index scan date.
  3. Select the name of the element in the 3DSearch box.

You can create or edit targets on the weight and center of gravity KPIs only. For more information, see Defining Business Targets.

  4. Optional: Expand the tree to see each child of the item with its KPIs values.
The only KPI displayed in the spreadsheet editor is the weight. Different kinds of weight are available: Measured, Declared, Computed, Estimated, and Inherited.
Note: The Inherited category in Life Cycle Secondary Analytics is used to display the percentage of the weight coming from CATIA V5 or any other external source. If there is not any other value, the inherited weight (coming from CATIA V5 for example) is considered as the product weight.

The different kinds of weight are ranked in order of confidence level, starting with Measured having a high level of confidence. For example:

    • The confidence level for a measured value is 100% and cannot be edited.
    • The default confidence level for an inherited value is 0% and cannot be modified.

  5. Create or edit business values.
  6. Save the business values.
To save a KPI, the following values are mandatory:
    • Value
    • Tolerance
    • Confidence
    • Behavior
  7. Optional: To verify if your data are consistent with the indexed components in Exalead CloudView, click Launch an Index Scan .
An index scan starts. A periodic index scan (every 2 minutes) is automatically defined during the installation of the app.
  8. Click Refresh to see the accurate information.
