Using Bevel-Butt Weld (Prepared Parts), you can create a bevel-butt weld with prepared parts, that is, with parts whose material has been removed so that the weld shape can fit in the generated void space. But
sometimes, the parts are already 'prepared' for welds in the design
shape itself: they already contain the required chamfer
and sometimes also the gap.
This weld can be continuous or dashed. For more information, see Creating a Dashed Weld.
From the Weld section of the action bar,
click Bevel-Butt Weld (Prepared Parts)
.
Select the prepared face, and then, the neutral faces of the first part.
Select the prepared face, and then the neutral face of the other part.
Optional: To define the shape of the weld, click the
Manufacturing tab and select an option. The shape
defines the weld seam shape representation in drafting context. If you select
Convex
or
Concave
, specify a curvature value in
Offset.
The offset is the maximum distance between the weld
face and arc.
