Channel UI Home Page

The channel UI home page shows active items that you need to work on. These items could be issues, tasks, ECOs, or other items. The apps installed on your system determine which channels display on the home page.

To view the channel UI home page, you need to define it as your default home page. Then, whenever you login or click the Home tool, this page displays. The My Issues and My Route Tasks channels always show; other apps can add other channels. For example, Project Management adds the My Projects channel.

Each item in a channel is shown in a thumbnail with an image to represent its function and text to provide details. The information provided for each item varies depending on the object and usually includes the item's name and key information, such as a due date or action required. Click on the thumbnail to open the default page for that item.

In this home page, you can:

  • Click See All to pop up a larger window containing the thumbnails for just that channel. Not all channels have this option.
  • Click to sort the channels. The sort options depend on the type of item. For example, you can sort some channels by date and others by name. Not all types have sort options.
  • Click to filter the items shown in the channels. See Filtering with 6WTags.

The thumbnail shows an icon if that item is due or late:

Icon Description
Late
Due (within a day of the task's due date)

For the My Route Tasks channel, each thumbnail shows the Task Name and the Route Action. You can sort the thumbnails based on the Due Date (ascending or descending order). You can filter the thumbnails based on the status of the tasks (On Time, Due, or Late). When you click a task thumbnail, the properties page for the task opens.

For the My Issues channel, each thumbnail shows the Issue Name and the Problem Type defined for the Issue.

For other channels, refer to the User's Guide for the specific app that controls the channel.
