Switching Credentials and Collaborative Spaces

If you are assigned to more than one organization, collaborative space, or role, you can switch which context you need to work under. You do not need to log off and then log on.

The Business Administrator can disable your ability to switch roles within a collaborative space.

For example, you could be assigned to the Engineering Business Unit with the role Author, and to the ABC Industries organization with the Leader role. If you log on to the Engineering organization as Author, you can then switch to work in the ABC Industries organization as a Leader.

Before you begin: You must log on to the platform.
  1. If you only need to switch to a different collaborative space, click , then select the needed collaborative space. If you have more than one role in the selected collaborative space, the Select Credentials dialog box opens (continue with step 3). Otherwise, your collaborative space is switched immediately.
  2. To switch your credentials, click Me > My Credentials. The Select Credentials dialog box opens.
  3. Choose options from the lists that you need for your current session. If you are only assigned to a single organization or collaborative space, then you only need to choose your Role.

    List Description
Collaborative Space Collaborative spaces that you have access to.
Organization Companies, business units, or other organizations that you belong to that are associated with the selected collaboration space.
Access Role The roles assigned to you for the selected collaborative space and organization.

For more information, see Access to Content in Collaborative Spaces.

  4. Click Done.

If you have any pop-up dialog boxes or pages open, your credentials are not switched until you close all open dialog boxes and pages. In addition, if you switch credentials when viewing an expanded tree structure, the tree expansion is retained, but the navigation history is not. That is, if you click , the app loads your Home page instead of the most recently-viewed page.
