Web Apps Top Bar

The top bar provides immediate access to key information and services.



The top bar includes these items:

  • Current app name; click the name to go to the home page for that app
  • Search scope
  • 6WTags
  • Current user name
  • Collaborative space menu
  • Me services
  • Share services
  • Add services
  • Home services
  • Help services
Menu/Button Name Description


Search Lets you search across the 3DEXPERIENCE platform. The search scope can be set in the drop-down menu when you click in the box. This allows you to define WHAT to search for, WHERE to search, and HOW to search.

Search results can be refined using 6WTags. For more information, see About 3DSearch Queries.



6WTags Click or tap on the tag icon next to the search box to reveal the 6WTags to search within the current tab.

6WTags let you capture the semantic on any content (either automatically extracted, or created by users).

Tags can then be used to refine search results or any content list. They follow the 6W classification: Who, When, What, Where, Why, How. For more information, see Filtering with 6WTags.

or Your Platform Name / Collaborative Space Name Shows the active collaborative space, and lets you switch to another collaborative space.

On the cloud, if multiple platforms are available, shows the active platform name along with the collaborative space name, and lets you switch to another platform.


Me Lets you access user-related information. If you added an image of yourself (you can use 3DSwym), your picture shows here.

Add Lets you create new items. See the User's Guide for the app for the menu items available.

Issues, Routes, and Team add items are not available on mobile platforms.



Share Share the current page. Some apps can add items to this button. If so, becomes a menu with Share and any other menu items. For more information about menu items other than Share, the user's guide for the specific app.

Share opens an email message containing a link to the current category for the object.

If you share a summary page with other people, they can only see the objects they have access to. If you share an object with other people, they only see the complete list of categories if they have access to that object.



Home Click to open the page you have defined as your home page in your preferences. If you have not set a preference, the home page is the Home Dashboard. The Home Dashboard link in the categories for Collaboration and Approvals always loads the Home Dashboard even if you selected a different page as your home page preference.

If any pop-up windows are open, the app closes them and then loads the home page.



Help

Command Name Description
Get Started Shows the introductory box that describes the 3DEXPERIENCE platform screen.
User's communities Opens 3DSwym to your default page.
About 3DEXPERIENCE platform Shows the current version number for the 3DEXPERIENCE platform.
Help Opens the User Assistance with help for the current page.

If there are multiple tabs on the page, opens the User Assistance welcome page.

For tabbed page or popup window, click Tools > . Help opens for that page, and also shows the table of contents. You can navigate to help for any topic in any installed app. You can also use the search box to search the entire help system for terms.
