Edit the Scopes of Attributes Groups

You can modify the scopes of any attributes group to specify the types the group is applied to.

Add Scopes

You can add scopes to any attributes group.

Important: Any existing object that has been created with the types you are about to add as scopes will not be updated with the attributes group.

  1. From the navigation menu, click Attributes Groups.
  2. Click the tile of the attributes group whose scopes you want to edit.
    The attributes group opens.
  3. Click Scope(s).
    The Scope(s) tab opens. It shows all the types that are currently using the attributes group.
  4. From the top-right hand corner of the Scopes tab, click Modify the scopes.
    The Edit an attributes group dialog box opens.
  5. From the Scope(s) Name(s) field, select the types to which the attributes group will be added.

    You can select types you have created yourself and supported OOTB DS types.

    Important: The types you select must all be of the same nature (WIP or Governance).

  6. Click Save.
After you have added scopes, update the index specification.

Remove Scopes

You can remove scopes from attributes groups that have not been imported, exported, nor used to create objects.

  1. From the navigation menu, click Attributes Groups.
  2. Click the tile of the attributes group whose scopes you want to edit.
    The attributes group opens.
  3. Click Scopes.
    The Scopes tab opens. It shows all the types that are currently using the attributes group.
  4. From the top-right hand corner of the Scopes tab, click Modify the scopes.
    The Edit an attributes group dialog box opens.
  5. From the Scopes Names field, click on each type from which you want to remove the attributes group.
  6. Click Save.
After you have removed scopes, update the index specification.
