There are several ways to create an attributes group:
- From scratch, which allows you to define the group's scope with several types at
once.
- From a type's Attributes Groups tab, which automatically defines
the group's scope with the current type.

Do either of the following:
- To create an attributes group from scratch, open either the
Attributes Groups page or any existing attributes
group.
- To create an attributes group from a type's Attributes
Groups tab, open the type and click
Attributes Groups.Note:
This tab is not available for types that you
derived from a DS type whose admin type is Interface
. For more
information, see List of Supported DS Types.

Click
Create a new
attributes group.
Depending on the action you performed in step 1, this command appears either on the
right-side of the widget or on the navigation menu.

In the Name of the attributes group field, enter a name for
your attributes group.
Only [a-z][A-Z][0-9] characters are supported.
Enterprise IP Schema Specialization automatically appends a UUID to the end of your name to make sure that your
attributes group name is unique. This UUID never appears on the user interface. You can
only retrieve it by copying the attributes group's full name. For more information, see
Copying a Specialization Element's Full Name.

If you are creating an attributes group from scratch, click the Scopes
Names field and select all the types to which your attributes group will
be applied.
You can select types you have created yourself and supported OOTB DS types.

Click Save.
Your attributes group is created and Enterprise IP Schema Specialization opens it.
