Navigating the Globe

You can perform basic viewing operations to navigate the globe using commands or mouse interactions.

Globe interactions can also be customized, see Interaction Options for more information.

Reset ViewpointZooms out to restore the globe view to its original viewpoint (where you can see the whole globe).

Note that this command is available when zooming in only, not when zooming out.

Mouse Interactions

Zoom in Scroll the mouse wheel forward to zoom in progressively. Make sure the Enable Zoom option is selected in the preferences.
Zoom outScroll the mouse wheel backward to zoom out progressively. Make sure the Enable Zoom option is selected in the preferences.
RotatePress and hold down the left mouse button, drag the pointer in the chosen direction then release.
Important: You cannot manipulate the globe at the pole limit (that is, at a latitude upper than 85°).
