Including Product Revision Effectivity on an Existing Configured BOM

You can add an effectivity expression based on product revisions in WIP BOM mode. A model with one or more product revisions must exist.

To add an effectivity expression in non-WIP BOM mode, you must add one or more parts using a change order or CA with applicability. See Creating a Change Order.

Note: Effectivity expressions cannot be created on mobile devices.

Before you begin: A part with Configured Part policy and Product revisions with units defined.
  1. In the part Engineering BOM category, select the EBOM tab.
  2. Select the Refinements icon .
  3. In the Refinements window, select 'Projected' in the Configuration View list.
  4. Select the Enable Edit Mode icon. The bill of materials is in edit mode.
  5. In the bill of materials, select one of more parts to which to add revision effectivity.
  6. In the Mass Update list, select Current Effectivity and click the button.

    Note: You can also edit the Current Effectivity in the BOM structured browser cell.

  7. Complete the Edit Effectivity Definition dialog box.

    Note: Product revision effectivity supports ranges of revisions (such as: Product1[A - ∞]).
