Creating Electronic Items

Electronic items are physical products that can be printed circuit board assemblies, printed circuit boards, or electronic physical components. You can add electronic items to a product structure or create them on the home page.

Required Responsibilities:

  • Baseline: Author, Leader
  • App-specific: Product Release Engineer

Before you begin: Set Allow creation of Electronic Items in Preferences. For more information, see User Preferences.
  1. Do one of the following:
    • On the home page, click New Product.
    • To open a product, click Add in the toolbar and select New Content.
  2. Click Type > Electronic Items and select an electronic item type.
  3. Complete these fields:
    OptionDescription
    Credentials Select the collaborative space and role required for access to the electronic item.
    Title Enter a title (replace the default title as required).
    Name The name of the electronic item (read-only).
    Description Enter a description.
    Collaborative Policy The collaborative policy for the electronic item (read-only).
