Viewing the 3D Model of a Product Configuration

You can view a synchronized 3D model of the product configuration in the 3D viewer. The 3D model loads progressively and updates dynamically as you select variant values and options in the product configuration.


Before you begin: Ensure that your model version's parent model is defined as the configuration context for at least one physical product that has 3D parts or geometry.
  1. Open the product configuration. For more information, see Opening a Product Configuration.
  2. From the toolbar, click .
    The Select Configured Physical Product pane opens.
  3. To open a physical product in the 3D viewer, double-click its tile.
  4. Optional: To pause the progressive loading of the 3D model, click Freeze 3D Loading in the status bar at the bottom of the pane.
  5. Optional: To resume the progressive loading of the 3D model, click click Resume 3D Loading in the status bar at the bottom of the pane.
  6. Select variant values and options to define the product configuration.
    The 3D model updates dynamically as you make configuration selections. There is a 5 second update delay between selections to avoid multiple updates after each change.
  7. Optional: Use the 3D view commands in the 3D viewer's action bar to manipulate the 3D model.

  8. Optional: To close the 3D model, click Close All.
  9. Optional: Double-click another configured physical product to view in the 3D viewer.
  10. To close the 3D viewer pane, in the product configuration's toolbar click .
