Running STEPPDMExport from the Batch Monitor

You can transfer the design data from 3DEXPERIENCE Platform to X-PDM using STEPPDMExport from the batch monitor.

Before you begin: Start a 3DEXPERIENCE Platform session.
  1. From the secondary area of Tools section of the action bar, click Utility....
The Batch Monitor dialog box appears.
  2. Double-click STEPPDMExport from the list.
    The STEPPDMExport dialog box appears.
  3. In the Context Name list, select an appropriate mapping context of the STEP PDM system.
For more information about mapping context configuration, see Identify the Exchange Channel.
  4. Either enter the filename of the STEP AP242 XML file to export in the dedicated field and enter a location or select one using the browser .
  5. In the Export Options area, select any of the following check boxes depending on the content to export:

    OptionsCheck box StatusImpact Description
With DocumentsSelect The documents (such as image, text ...) attached to the selected object structure are exported.

Note: A standalone document cannot be exported.

ClearThe documents (such as image, text ...) attached to the selected object structure are not exported.

By default, the With Documents check box is clear.

With EffectivitiesSelectThe effectivities associated to the product structure are exported.
Note: Only single context date effectivity or unit effectivity is considered. Evolution effectivity on model version is not supported.
ClearThe effectivities associated to the product structure are not exported.

By default, the With Effectivities check box is clear.

With CustomizationSelect The customization information associated to the product structure(specialized types and attributes)are exported.

Click Browse, to select the desired mapping file. For more information, see cust-STEP-mapping.xml Configuration File for STEP PDM.

ClearThe customization information associated to the product structure is not exported.

By default, the With Customization check box is clear.

  6. In the 3D file format list, select an appropriate format to export the 3D exact geometry format. You can choose geometrical conversion options as As Result or As Specifications if the selected 3D file format supports it.

    Notes:
    • If the selected 3D file format is not compatible with As Specification, As Result is selected by default.
    • For STEP format is selected, the STEP Converter preferences are applied. For more information, refer Native Apps User Preferences Guide: General | Compatibility | STEP.

  7. In the Report directory box, do one of the following:
