Selecting a Protocol

You can choose the protocol you want to configure and run from a list of available protocols.

This task shows you how to:

Before you begin:
  • Pin the Pipeline Pilot Launchpad to a dashboard.
  • Before selecting a protocol, verify that Pipeline Pilot Launchpad is connected to an appropriate Pipeline Pilot Server. See Customizing Preferences.

Choose a Protocol

You can view all available protocols on the selected Pipeline Pilot Server and choose the one you want to configure and run.

  1. Click and select Protocol Gallery.
    This opens the Protocol Gallery containing a list of all available protocols.
  2. Click to expand the folders of protocols.
    This displays the protocols in each expanded folder.
  3. Click for the protocol you want to use.

If the protocol requires configuration, it opens in the Launcher Form, with its parameters displayed. If the protocol does not require configuration of its parameters, it runs automatically and the results are displayed.

A message displays if the protocol you select cannot save its inputs in the Pipeline Pilot Launchpad widget.
