In the
AutoCAD toolbar, select 3DEXPERIENCE > Save > Active or All.
- Active: Save new or modified
designs that are active in the current session of AutoCAD.
- All: Save all new or modified
designs which are
loaded in AutoCAD.
The 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box appears.
All the designs open in AutoCAD that are new or modified are listed in the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box. For each design, the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box lists,
-
Enter the following details for saving the design:
Option | Action |
---|
 | Click to select all the new and modified designs from the listed designs. | Save To | The 3DEXPERIENCE workspace/Projects where the designs will be saved. For more information, see Select a Workspace/Project to Save Designs. | Comments | Enter comments for design you are saving. The comments are stored as an attribute in the design in ENOVIA. | View | Select a table defined by the Integration Administrator. The selected table is applied to the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box. |
- Click Options to open the 3DEXPERIENCE Save options dialog box. For details on setting the ENOVIA Save options, see Setting Save Options.
- In the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box, right-click the design and select:
Option | Action |
---|
Autoname | To assign a name automatically to the selected designs.
A name is assigned for the selected designs as per the autoname series set for each type in the Save Options dialog box. See Use Autoname. | Revise | To apply the target revision
specified in the Save Options dialog box to all the selected designs. The revision
number or sequence is displayed under the Target Revision column. You can edit the values of the revision specified under the Target Revision
column. For
new designs, the first revision in the revision sequence is applied as
the revision by default. For example, Rev A. Click Refresh to apply the revisions to the selected rows. For more information, see Revising Designs. | Undo Revise | To revert the
target revision added using the Revise option. This option is available
only for designs that have the target revision set using the Revise option. | Include for Save | To select the check boxes for the selected rows in the ENOVIA Save dialog box. Note:
Rows with alert icons cannot be included for save.
| Exclude from Save | To exclude the designs corresponding to the selected rows from saving to ENOVIA.
| Revise All | To revise new and modified designs from the ENOVIA Save dialog box, which can be revised with a single click. For more information, see Revising All Designs. | Type Selection | To assign a customized ENOVIA type to the CAD Design. For more information, see Type Selection on Save. |
- Optional: Click Refresh to refresh the rows in the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box, if you have modified the target revision.
- Optional: Select Show CAD Attributes to add the CAD Attributes column to the ENOVIA Save dialog box. For more information, see Viewing Attributes of a Design.
The CAD Attributes dialog box displays the attributes set for a design. - Click Save when done.
Notes:
- Attributes defined as
mandatory in the GCO use the value specified in the GCO. - Attributes defined as
default in the GCO use the
values specified in the properties of a file. If no value is
specified in the file properties, then the value specified in the GCO
is used. Therefore the value for such default attributes should be
defined either in file or in GCO. - Attributes defined as
null in the GCO use the values
specified in the file properties. Therefore values for such
null attributes must be defined on file.
The new designs are saved in ENOVIA with the options selected for save applied.
Select a Workspace/Project to Save Designs
This section shows you how to select a workspace or project to save designs.
-
Click [...] in the Save To area in 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box.
The Select Workspace/Project dialog box opens only if, - User is assigned "Exchange User" role
- Has access to one or more workspaces
- The workspaces are active
- The selected workspace must have folders for which user has Read/Change access
- Project space is available only if a Program Central application is installed. You can select a project only if Program Central license and Project user role is assigned to you. For more information on Project space, see ENOVIA Projects
The Select Workspace/Project dialog box appears
-
Select a workspace folder or a project folder from the list of ENOVIA workspaces and click OK.
Note:
Multiple selection of workspace/project folders is not supported.
The selected workspace/project space
is displayed in the Save To: field in the ENOVIA Save dialog box.
Save Drawings With Blocks
During save, if there is only one drawing active in AutoCAD with
the same block attribute added multiple times in this drawing,
then a message asking you to select the block
attribute from the available
attributes to synchronize is displayed. This message appears before the Save dialog box is
displayed. The selected attribute is saved to ENOVIA with the
design. The value of this attribute is displayed in the CAD
Attributes dialog box if the Show CAD Attributes
checkbox is selected.
When 2 or more drawings are open in AutoCAD and if any of the
designs have blocks with multiple attributes, then a warning message
is displayed upon saving. Click Yes to save the design without the
block attributes or click No to cancel save.
For more information, see Viewing Attributes of a Design.
Use Autoname
The Autoname option is available depending on the Preferences set by the Integration Administrator. Only designs with status "New" can be named using Autoname. As a prerequisite, the Autoname series must be set in the ENOVIA Save options dialog box.
In the 3DEXPERIENCE Save dialog box, right-click designs with status "New" and click Autoname.Names are generated automatically for the selected designs as per the autoname series set for each type (CAD Model / CAD Drawing)
in the Save Options dialog box and the auto-names are
displayed under the
Autoname column in ENOVIA Save dialog box. On saving, the designs are saved with the names generated automatically.
Type Selection on Save
When one CAD type is mapped to multiple ENOVIA types in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object which is assigned to the user, then you can save an object of this CAD type in any one of the ENOVIA types to which it is mapped.
This type selection for save can be done through the Save dialog and it is only possible for designs having status as "NEW" or "MODIFIED_TYPECHANGE". When one CAD type is mapped to multiple ENOVIA types in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object which is assigned to the user, to select an ENOVIA type for Save,
- In the Save dialog box, right-click a design node and select Type Selection.
Note:
Multiple nodes can also be selected. Nodes of different CAD types can be selected, provided, the corresponding CAD types have been mapped to multiple ENOVIA types in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object which is assigned to the user.Type Selection command is disabled for objects of CAD types for which multiple ENOVIA types are not mapped in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object which is assigned to the user.
The ENOVIA Type Selection dialog box appears All objects that are selected for type
selection are listed in the dialog box. The "Choose Type" list is
not populated unless an object is selected.
- Select an object for type selection.
If you have chosen to ignore the CAD types through an attribute setting in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object that is assigned to you, all the objects listed in the ENOVIA Type Selection can be selected. If you have chosen not to ignore the CAD types through the attribute setting in the AutoCADInteg-GlobalConfig Object that is assigned to you, only such objects that have the same CAD type as the selected object can be selected for type selection. The objects with different CAD type other than the selected object remain unavailable. To make the other objects available, clear the selection of the object. The Choose Type list is now populated with ENOVIA types that have been mapped to the CAD type the selected object belongs.
- Select the objects from the list for type selection.
You can assign different ENOVIA types for objects with the same CAD type. In such cases, you should select the objects separately. - Select the required type from the Choose Type list.
The Type column for the selected object
reflects the value of the selected type.
After selecting the option from the Choose Type
list, the selected node appears in bold.
In a similar manner, you may change the ENOVIA type for the objects listed on the Type Selection dialog by selecting them and then choosing the desired ENOVIA type. - Complete the Type Selection for the required objects and click OK.
The Save dialog refreshes and the specified ENOVIA types are applied to the selected objects.
