Creating a Proposed Project

You can create a proposed project from the Projects page.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Reader
  • App-specific: Project User

Before you begin: Program and Contract Management must be the active app.

Opening a Program
  1. To create a proposed project, do one of the following:
    • List the app categories for Program and Contract Management.
    • In the navigation pane, click Projects.
    • From the page Actions menu , click Create Proposed Project .

    Or

    • List the app categories for Program and Contract Management.
    • In the navigation pane, click Proposed Projects.
    • From the page Actions menu , click Create Proposed Project .

    Or

    • Open a program.
    • In the navigation pane, click Projects.
    • From the page Actions menu , click Create Proposed Project .
  2. Enter the following information:
    Field Name Description
    Type The type is defaulted to Project Concept.
    Name Enter the name of the proposed project.
    Policy Project Concept is the policy that governs the lifecycle of the proposed project.
    Brief Description Enter a brief description of the proposed project.
    Policy Project Concept is the default policy.
    Business Unit Click to search for and select the business unit responsible for the project.
    Program Click to search for and select the program connected to the project.
    Visibility Depending on who can see the project, select Members or Company from the list. If a project's visibility is set to Members, then only those users in that organization have access to the project. If a project's visibility is set to Company, then all the user's in the company have access to the project.
    Schedule From Select when to schedule the project:
    • Project Start Date - The project schedule is based on when the project started.
    • Project Finish Date - The project schedule is based on when the project is ended.
    Project Date Click to select the date the proposed project is estimated to start or finish based on the value in the Schedule From field.
    Default Task Constraint Select As Soon As Possible or As Late As Possible as the default task constraint.
    Calendar Click to search for and select the work calendar used to schedule the proposed project.
    PGO Select the value for the PGO. Probability of GO is the probability that the project will actually happen.
    PWIN Select the value for the PWIN. Probability of WIN is the probability that the proposal will win through the customer's proposal process.
  3. Click OK.

The proposed project is listed on the Projects page.
