Creating a WBS Specification

You can create a WBS Specification from a project.

Required access roles:

  • Baseline: Administrator, Leader
  • App-specific: Contracts Manager, Data Manager, Program Controls Specialist, Subcontractor

Before you begin: Program and Contract Management must be the active app and a project must exist.

Opening a Project
  1. To create a WBS Specification, do one of the following:
    • Open a project.
    • In the navigation pane, click Project Requirements.
    • Click the WBS Specifications tab.
    • From the page toolbar, click Actions > Create WBS Specification .

    Or

    • Click Home .
    • In the navigation pane, click Program Mgmt > Contracts > WBS Specifications.
    • From the page toolbar, click Actions > Create WBS Specification .
  2. Enter the following information:
    Field NameDescription
    NameEnter the WBS Specification name or select Autoname to automatically name the WBS Specification.
    Type WBS Specification is the type.
    PolicyFrom the list, select the policy that governs the lifecycle of the WBS Specification.
    DescriptionEnter a detailed description for the WBS Specification.
    NotesEnter in any notes related to the WBS Specification.
    ObjectiveEnter the objective of the WBS Specification.
    SynopsisEnter the synopsis of the WBS Specification.
  3. Click OK.

The WBS Specification is listed on the WBS Specification tab of the project.
