Creating a Standard Phase

You can create a phase in a formula that groups ingredients that are processed together. You can create a phase before you add ingredients to it, or you can group existing ingredients into a phase.


Before you begin: To perform this task, you must have the Formulation Designer 3DS role.

  1. Select the row above which you want to create the new phase. If the row is an ingredient row, this ingredient, and all ingredients below it until the next phase header, will be included in the new phase.
  2. In the formula grid toolbar, click Insert Row , and select Insert Phase from the menu.
  3. Open the phase's properties pane, and specify the phase's name and (optionally) a processing note. For more information, see "Viewing and Editing Phase Properties."
  4. Add more ingredients to the phase if required, by creating them or moving them into the phase from elsewhere in the formula grid. See Adding an Ingredient to a Formulaand Adding, Moving, and Deleting Rows.
