Adding an Ingredient to a Formula

You can add an ingredient to a formula from the materials database.

You can add a new ingredient directly in the formula grid.

Before you begin: To perform this task, you must have the Formulation Designer 3DS role.

In the formula grid, select the row above which you want to add the new ingredient. This row can be for an existing ingredient, a phase, or a processing instruction.
If you do not select a row, or if you select the TOTALS row, the ingredient will be added at the bottom of the last phase in the formula grid.
Click Add Ingredient above the formula grid.
A new ingredient row is added to the formula grid. By default, the row is not associated with a material, and is labeled New Ingredient in the Material Name cell.
To associate the new ingredient with a material:
1. Click the cell in a searchable column, for example Material ID or Material Name.
2. Start typing in the cell to search for materials. For example, to search for flavorings in the Material Name cell, type flav.
  A list opens showing all the materials that contain the string you typed in the relevant field.
3. Select the material you want from the list that opens.
The ingredient is associated with the material that you selected, and the row is filled out with the material's properties.

Add an Ingredient from Search Results

You can add an ingredient to a formula from the results of a search. The search can be for materials or reviewed formulas. Adding an ingredient from a reviewed formula is the same as adding it from the equivalent formulated material. For more information, see Using Formulated Materials as Ingredients.

Before you begin: To perform this task, you must have the Formulation Designer 3DS role.

With Formulation Design open or pinned to your dashboard, search for materials or reviewed formulas. For instructions on searching, see 3DEXPERIENCE Platform: Using 3DSearch.
The Search Results panel opens. It opens in a maximized view, unless you minimized the panel in a previous search.
If the panel is maximized, click in the Search Results paneltop bar to minimize it.
From the Search Results panel, drag the material or reviewed formula for the new ingredient into the formula grid.
The ingredient is added to the top of the formula grid.

Tip: You can select and drag multiple materials or reviewed formulas from the Search Results panel into the formula grid.
Move the new ingredient (or ingredients) to the appropriate position in the formula grid.
