What's New

This page describes recent changes in Design with CATIA V5.

This page discusses:

R2022x FD01 (FP.2205)

Initializing CATIA V5 POWER'BY Session with a Change Action

You can now initialize your CATIA V5 POWER'BY session using the Display Change Action Chooser button in the status bar.
Benefits: You can quickly and easily initialize a CATIA V5 session with a Change Action.
For more information, see Using Change Action

Viewing CAD Type in CATIA V5

You can now view CAD Type of PS documents, representation documents, and drawing documents.
Benefits: You can easily sort a document based on the CAD Type in the CAD Type column.
For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Save Dialog Box

Managing Multi-Release Files During Open

When different CATIA V5 designers who are not using the same level collaborate, different warnings appear while opening a structure in a CATIA V5 session.
Benefits: You can abort the operation if further actions can lead to data versioning. You can also open data in the read-only mode.
For more information, see About Opening Data from 3DEXPERIENCE

R2022x GA

Renaming of Commands

The Reserve and Unreserve commands are now renamed to Lock and Unlock.
Benefits: The user experience is improved.
For more information, see Locking and Unlocking Documents

Highlighting Instances in the CATIA V5 Specification Tree

When you select an object in the Save dialog box, all the corresponding instances are highlighted in 3D as well as in the specification tree.
Benefits: You can now see the object on which you are performing actions in context of the full assembly.
For more information, see 3DEXPERIENCE Save Dialog Box

Opening and Visualizing 3DShapes Attached to a 3DEXPERIENCE Assembly

You can now open and visualize multiple 3DShapes attached to a 3DEXPERIENCE or SOLIDWORKS assembly as a representation.
Benefits: You can now open all kinds of multi-CAD 3D representations (3DPart and 3DShape) in CATIA V5.
For more information, see About Working with Multi-CAD Data in CATIA V5

Creating a Parametric Bridge

You can now create a parametric bridge in 3DEXPERIENCE apps on CATIA V5 parametric data. You can modify and update a parametric design using a regular PLM update or Simulation Apps .
Benefits: Updating parameters is now easier and faster using the supplemental approach. You need not go to the CATIA V5 client to update design parameters.

Saving and Opening Supporting Documents

ou can save a supporting document linked to a catalog in 3DEXPERIENCE. You can also open the supporting document in a browser.
Benefits: You can manage the supporting document linked to a catalog in 3DEXPERIENCE.
