Plotting Simulation Results

You can create plots for displaying the simulation results.


Before you begin: Run a simulation. For more information, see Simulating a Model.

  1. To create a plot, do one of the following:
    • From the Design section of the action bar, click Plot Window .
    • Double-click a component in the diagram and click Plot .
      Note: The contents of this plot persist even if you switch to another component.
    • Right-click a parameter or a variable in their respective editor and select Create new plot.

    Important: This command is active only when the simulation is updated.

    A chart is displayed.
  2. Optional: Select the type of chart.

    By default, the line type is selected.

  3. To plot a variable, drag the variable into the chart area.

    Tip: You can drag the parent node of a variable array to plot all its elements at once.

    The Modelica variable is displayed as a series in the chart.
    Warning: If the number of points in a series exceeds 50000, a warning symbol with a tooltip is displayed in the lower-right corner of the chart. Labels are not shown in this case (for example, the minimum and maximum labels).
  4. Optional: To attach the plot, click .
