Tutorial - Grid Approach

Welcome to the Grid Approach tutorial. This tutorial comprises 8 steps that lead you through the grid approach in Composites Design.

To create the Composites design of a portion of fuselage:

  • Define a panel from a surface and planes that represent the structure constraints.
  • From the panel, compute cells and apply a laminate to them, thus creating the grid.
  • From the grid, generate, visualize, and optimize a virtual stacking containing predefinition of plies organization in layer deduced automatically from laminate definition. Modify the plies organization, if required.
  • Once you are satisfied with the virtual plies, create the physical plies.
  • Now verify the laminates and the plies shapes.
  • Create a top surface from the virtual stacking and display iso-thickness areas, junction lines and ITPs
