Engineering BOM

The BOM page serves as a central source of information about each part and includes the state of each part in the BOM. This page shows the details of the parts that are in the BOM. For formulation parts, some additional information is displayed.

To access this page:

  • Open a part and from the category menu, select Engineering BOM.

EBOM Page for Formulation Part

The Formula Ingredients tab appears on the Bill of Materials page when the part type is Formulation Part.

Columns

The following columns are specific to formula ingredients tab. All other Formula Ingredient columns are the same as the EBOM page of Engineering BOM Management. For more information, see Part Bill of Materials.

Column Description
Phase Shows the current Release Phase of the part.
Min The minimum quantity of the ingredients.
Qty The quantity of the ingredients.
Max The maximum quantity of the ingredients.
Loss The loss of ingredients in the formula.

Toolbar

The following table describes the actions that you can do:

Action/ Toolbar Command Description
Reports You can generate and view different types of reports. For more information, see BOM Reports.
Actions > Existing Parts Guided Search You can add existing parts or formulation parts as formula ingredients. For more information, see Inserting Existing Part Guided Search.
Select Work Under Change Select a change action to create an EBOM. When a Change Action is selected, appears on the toolbar indicating that the performed BOM operations are logged under it.

EBOM Page for Parts Other Than Formulation Part

The EBOM tab is the Bill of Materials page for part types other than Formulation Part.

Columns

All other columns are the same as the EBOM page for Engineering BOM Management except for the ones described below. For more information, see Part Bill of Materials.

Column Description
Phase Shows the current release phase of the part.
Change Controlled
  • Shows Enable when product data is in the Pilot or Production Release Phase.
  • Shows Disable when product data is not in the Pilot or Production Release Phase.

Insert Part > Insert as Child > Existing Part Guided Search Adds existing parts to the selected part. For more information, see Inserting Existing Part Guided Search.
