Modifying Keyword Values

You can modify the keyword values of chapters and items. You can also modify the inherited keyword values of the chapters and the default keyword values of the items. The keyword names can be renamed.

Required access roles:

Before you begin: Open the Keyword Edition toolbar in the Design IP Classification app. For more information about opening the Keyword Edition toolbar, see Adding Keywords.

  1. Select an item.
  2. Click Activate Edit Mode in the Keyword Edition toolbar.
    A confirmation message appears and the command changes to Deactivate Edit Mode . You can now edit the attributes of the keyword value.
  3. Select the cell of your choice from the Item Table.

    You can press Ctrl to select multiple rows of items.

  4. To modify keyword values, you can do one of the following:
    • Type a new keyword value in the selected cell.
    • Select the predefined value from the list.

    Following are the keyword values:

    • Free value (value given by the user)
    • Default value (same value as at the chapter level)
    • Unset value (explicitly set to no value)

    If you provide any invalid value, a notification message appears.
  5. To propagate the modification of the default value on the sub-chapter, click Activate Propagate Mode in the Keyword Edition toolbar.
    The modified value appears for the selected keyword.

    The symbol is no longer available before the modified keyword value.

  6. Repeat the task from step 2 to step 4 to edit the multiple keyword values.
