About Parameters and Variables

You can edit some parameters, variables, and constants.

Important: You can save initial values of parameters and variables, that you have changed during the simulation, to the model. See Saving Initial Values in the Model.

This page discusses:

Parameter and Variable Editor

When you select a component in the Component Browser, its parameters, variables, and constants are by default displayed in the Parameter and Variable Editor.

Parameters and Variables Edition

Parameters, variables, and constants are by default displayed in the Parameter and Variable Editor.

You can edit parameters, variables, and constants through:

The default values that are changed are considered as overloaded. An overloaded value is indicated by a green marker in front of the corresponding box.

Values of parameters/variables/constants that are defined in the active class (locally defined) are indicated by an orange marker in front of the corresponding box. Such values cannot have any indication of overloading.

Units

You can select customized units from Me > Preferences > App Preferences > 3D Modeling > Multi Discipline Automated Engineering > Knowledge Basics, the Units tab.

For more advanced unit handling, see Managing Display Units and Units.
