Recalling a Controlled Print

Document Center Administrators (DCAs) can recall a controlled print of a controlled document. For example, you could recall a controlled print that was issued to the wrong recipient or that was created from a controlled that has become obsolete since the controlled print was issued.

Before you begin: View the Controlled Print Report page. See Controlled Print Report.
  1. Select the controlled print that you want to recall.
Note: By default, the Controlled Print Report page only displays the controlled prints that you have issued. You can search for other controlled prints. See Searching for Controlled Prints. Click Reset to remove the filtered search results and restore the page to the default display.
  2. Click Recall.
The system displays a message indicating that the controlled print recall has been initiated.

The system emails the user who was issued the controlled print that you recalled. The Recall Status for the controlled print is Initiated until the user to whom the controlled print was issued acknowledges the recall. Once the user acknowledges the recall, the Recall Status for the controlled print is Recalled.

External recipients who were issued the controlled document as a contact will be notified by email if the controlled print is recalled, but do not have access to the system to acknowledge the recall. The DCA must manually acknowledge the recall for external recipients.

Users can no longer access controlled prints that are Recalled.
