Baselining

In a design cycle, the designer uses a baseline to capture and store a structure at any point in time during the design process. In a iteration scheme, a baseline uniquely identifies a structure, not just one design.

You can now create a baseline with the AsBuilt, Latest Released Revision, Latest Revision, Latest In Work Revision, or Latest Frozen Revision view. You can filter the view while creating a baseline. You cannot create a baseline if the GCO attribute, IEF-TypeRestrictedFeatureMapping is set to Baseline for the CAD type.

Note: Baseline policy: The baseline policy is not 3DSpace baseline compliant. User access permissions on a baseline object are not similar to the access permissions on the objects the baseline is associated with.

You cannot have more than one design with the same baseline name or label. Also, you cannot overwrite a design that is baselined. Also, you cannot edit the design or the structure which has been baselined.

If you apply Baseline to an object, then the label is applied to the latest iteration of the revision stream. You cannot create baseline on an obsolete design or a structure which contains obsolete designs.
