Using Batch Utility to Update In-Process Models

You can Update IPM (in-process models) in a batch mode, and save all the manufacturing features created into a database. This does not do the update if you have not done MBOM Generation, and Part Planning.


Before you begin: The session data must include a track on a product in a simulation context.

  1. From the Tools section of the action bar, select Utility .
    The Batch Monitor dialog box appears.

  2. Scroll down and double-click Heavy Industry Manufacturing Options
    The Heavy Industry Manufacturing Operations dialog box appears.
  3. Select the check box for Update IPM (clear the one that is active).
    Note: By selecting the Update IPM operation, the other operation options are disabled. However, by selecting any other operation from the workshop docs extraction, the Update IPM operation disables.
  4. Click 3DEXPERIENCE Platform Object Search .
    The TST Object Management dialog box appears.
    Note: You can search the required manufacturing assembly in the database where part planning completes in Simplified Mode. Click Run to generate the manufacturing features in the flattened part directly.
  5. In Object, select Manufacturing Assembly
  6. Click OK.
    The Object selection frame in the Heavy Industry Manufacturing Operations dialog is loaded with a Manufacturing Assembly.

  7. Select the Manufacturing Assembly.
  8. Click Run.
    This creates manufacturing features for all manufactured parts under the selected Manufacturing Assembly are saves to the database. A report is created in the directory mentioned in the Report Directory editor.

  9. Click OK.
    The report shows the content for the separate processes:
