Assigning Manufacturing Programs to the Turrets

You can assign a Manufacturing Program to each of the turrets on the machine. Turret management by Manufacturing Program allows:

  • As many Manufacturing Programs as turrets.
  • Turret assignment at Manufacturing Program level.
  • Machining Operation inherit the turret of its Manufacturing Program: no explicit selection needed.

  1. Double-click Manufacturing Program PGMUT in the Activities Process tree.

  2. Select Upper Turret using the Turret Name combo box.

    Note: When a Manufacturing Program is edited, its associated turret and corresponding turret axis system are highlighted in the 3D view. This is applicable for mill turret also.

  3. Click OK to assign the Manufacturing Program to the turret.
  4. Right-click the PGMUT in the Activities Process tree and select Compute Tool Path.

    The tool path of the Rough Turning operation is computed and the Activities Process tree is updated with this information.

  5. Double-click the Activities Process tree PGMLT in the Activities Process tree.
  6. Select Lower Turret using the Turret Name combo box.
  7. Right-click PGMLT in the Activities Process tree and select Compute Tool Path.

    The tool path of the Drilling operation is computed and the Activities Process tree is updated with this information.
