  2. Create a Pocketing operation .
    1. Optional: Click Update Input Stock .

The input intermediate stock (corresponding to the stock defined in the Part Operation) is displayed in the work area.

    2. Select the Tools tab and select a tool.
    3. Select the Geometry tab and define the required geometry. Set Offset on contour to 1mm.
  3. Select the Machining Strategy tab, then to the Axial tab.
    1. Set the Mode to Maximum depth of cut,
    2. Set the Maximum depth of cut value to 10mm.
  4. Click Display or Simulate as it is now activated.

    1. Click Update Output Stock .
    • The tool path is computed and the output intermediate stock is displayed in the work area.

    • Update Output Stock has changed, meaning the output stock is computed and displayed.
  5. Click OK in the Operation dialog box.
    1. Copy and paste the Pocketing operation you have just created.
A second Pocketing operation is created.
  6. Edit the second Pocketing operation:
    1. Set Offset on contour to 0 mm
    2. Set Maximum depth of cut value to 15mm
    3. Optional: Click Update Input Stock .

The input stock corresponding to the output stock of the first operation is displayed in the work area.

    4. Click Display or Simulate to compute the tool path.

    • The tool path machines the remaining material only
    • The tool path is different on the bottom level.

  7. Click OK in the Operation dialog box.
  8. Insert a Drilling operation after the two Pocketing operations and define its parameters.

The input stock status is Input Stock to Compute or to Update .

    1. Click OK in the Operation dialog box.
  9. Edit the second Pocketing operation:
    1. Click Update Output Stock .

The output intermediate stock is visualized in the work area.

  10. Click OK in the Operation dialog box.
  11. Edit the Drilling operation.

The input stock status is back to Update Input Stock .

    1. Click Update Input Stock .
