Creating an MBOM from an Existing EBOM

You can generate a manufactured item structure (MBOM) from an existing product structure (EBOM).

Before you begin: An EBOM structure exists in the Products and Parts view. The EBOM structure can be a root product containing several products and parts, for example.
On premises only: You can perform these actions only with the On Premises version.

Replacing an Object in the MBOM
  1. Click Create Assembly to create a root manufacturing assembly in the Manufactured Items panel of the dashboard.
  2. If the EBOM structure contains products only:
    1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Create Mfd Items Structure .
    2. Select the root manufacturing assembly.
    3. Click OK.
      An MBOM structure is created with scopes and implement links.
  3. If the EBOM structure contains products and parts:
    1. Create appropriate manufactured items under the root manufacturing assembly.
    1. Link each manufactured item to a part in the Products and Parts view of the dashboard.
      A part is linked to each manufactured item.
  4. To update the MBOM structure:
    1. Select a manufactured item that has a scope link with a product or part.
    2. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Update Mfd Items Structure .
    3. In the dialog box, select a revision.
    4. Optional: If you do not want to create a new scope link, select Skip scope creation for children.
