Creating an NC Batch Computation Job

Directly define and run a batch job for a Machining Operation / Manufacturing Program / Part Operation in the Activities Process Tree. At the end of the batch job execution, the results are automatically synchronized in the interactive session.

  1. Select Create NC Batch Job .
  2. In the Job Definition dialog box that appears, under Description, select one of the following:
    • Compute tool path.
    • Compute NC file.
    • Simulate and generate results.

Recommendation: If Simulate and generate results is selected, go to Me > Preferences > App Preferences > Simulation > Machining , and select the Save intermediate simulation results in database and Save the fault list in database options to synchronize and save generated results in database.

  3. Optional: Specify a Comment.
  4. If Compute NC file is selected, click NC Output Options.
In the NC Output Options dialog box that appears, select one of the following the requirements:

    • By program.
    • Output NC Program.
    • Replace like-named NC Program.

  5. Click Run.
This adds the new job to the queue of batch jobs.
Note: When a batch job has finished executing, the results are automatically synchronized. If an interactive session is open, you are notified with a countdown message of 10 seconds duration at the end of which the synchronization of the computed results begins.

If an interactive session is not open when the batch job completes execution, the job is not synchronized. Synchronize it manually from the NC Batch Queue panel in a later interactive session.

If you attempt to run the Create NC Batch Job command on newly imported, non-propagated V5 data, an error message appears and the command exits.

  6. Optional: To view the list of jobs that have been started using the Create NC Batch Job command, open the NC Batch Queue panel.
Note: This command requires the In interactive session and Immediate options to be set in the NC Batch Queue panel.

If there are no jobs defined in the NC Batch Queue panel, the In interactive session and Immediate options are automatically set and the batch job execution starts.

If there are completed jobs in the NC Batch Queue panel, you are prompted with a message panel asking whether the completed jobs need to be removed from the queue. If Yes, the batch queue is reset, and the job definition panel is displayed. If No, none of these are done and the command exits.

If batch jobs created using the NC Batch Queue panel are running and the In interactive session or Immediate options are not set, an error message appears. Clicking OK exits the Create NC Batch Job command.
