Editing an Instruction Set

When editing an operation, you can edit the instruction set parameters of the operation or of one or more specific manufacturing fasteners. You can also find the right values to apply to a fastener in the instruction set using Jog Command. Any modifications you make apply to the instruction set parameters of the edited operation only.

Note: You can edit parameters set to Public only. Edited values of parameters are taken into account in NC outputs and operation simulation.

Jog the Machine

You can change the machine position in context to find the right values to be applied for a fastener in the instruction set. This command is only available for machines.

  1. Double-click a drilling and riveting operation.
  2. In the work area, select a fastener and click Jog the Machine .
    The machine moves to the fastener position.
  3. To change the machine position, you can:
    • In the work area, drag the manipulators.
    • In the Jog dialog box, modify the values.

  4. When you edit the instruction set of the same fastener, copy values from the Jog dialog box in the Instruction Sets dialog box.
    For example, in the Jog dialog box, find the command that corresponds to the anvil angle. When you edit the instruction set of the manufacturing fastener, enter the anvil angle value in the corresponding box.

Edit the Instruction Set of an Operation

You can modify the instruction set parameters of an operation.

Before you begin: The usage of the instruction set must be set to Global or Any.
  1. In the Activities Process Tree, double-click the drilling and riveting operation.
    The operation dialog box opens.
  2. In the Strategy tab of the Strategy Parameters tab, select an instruction set in the Approach list and click Edit parameters of selected instruction set .
    The Default Instruction Set dialog box appears.
  3. Modify the desired parameters and click OK.
  4. Select an instruction set in the Fastening list and click Edit parameters of selected instruction set.
  5. Modify the desired parameters and click OK.

The parameters of the instruction set are modified for all the manufacturing fasteners of the operation.

Edit the Instruction Set of Manufacturing Fasteners

You can edit the instruction set parameters of one or more specific manufacturing fasteners.

Before you begin:
  • The usage of the instruction set must be set to Local or Any.
  • The operation dialog box must be open to enable the selection of the manufacturing fastener.
  1. In the work area, select a manufacturing fastener and click Edit Instruction set of selected position(s) .
    The Instruction Sets dialog box opens.
  2. In the Approach area, select the instruction set to edit and modify the desired parameters.
  3. In the Fastening area, select the instruction set to edit and modify the desired parameters.
  4. Click Update machine position to see the result in the work area.
    The machine moves to the selected fastener position according to the modified parameters.

    If you have selected several fasteners, the machine moves to the last selected fastener.

  5. Click OK.

The parameters of the instruction set are modified for the selected manufacturing fastener only.

Tip: To edit the instruction set of several manufacturing fasteners, press CTRL or SHIFT before selecting the manufacturing fasteners.
