Defining Asset Mapping

You can use the Configuration Manager panel to define asset mapping. This enables you to retrieve object-specific information from defined tags by linking asset interfaces and data source end points to assets.

Note: Modifications are directly taken into account.

Define a Data Source

You have to define one or more data sources to retrieve the required information within your factory.

From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Configuration Manager .

The Configuration Manager panel opens.
Click the Data Sources tab.
Notes:
- On Request: Defines the REST Web Service to retrieve historical or future data from data source end points.
- Real time: Defines the real-time connection of the data source to retrieve real-time data from data source end points in Live mode.
Click the plus to create a new data source.
Enter a name, then press Enter or click the check mark to validate the creation.
A new row appears in the Concept Data table.

Add data source end points to retrieve information from defined tags.

Select the newly created data source row.
Click the plus .
Select Create new End Point.
A dialog box opens.
Enter the required information.
Click OK to validate the creation.
Repeat these substeps as many times as required.

Tips:

You can also access the Create new End Point command in the context menu.
Double-click a table cell to edit it.

You can now retrieve the required information from the data source that you defined.

Define Interfaces

You can define interfaces to highlight object information according to defined tags, such as the battery, the storage, or the position.

From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Configuration Manager .

The Configuration Manager panel opens.
Click the Interfaces tab.
Click the plus to create a new interface.
Enter a name, then press Enter or click the check mark to validate the creation.
A new row appears in the Concept Data table.

Add one or more properties to the selected interface.

Select the newly created interface row.
Click the plus .
Select Create new Property.
A dialog box opens.
Enter the required information.
Click OK to validate the creation.
Repeat these substeps as many times as required.

Tips:

You can also access the Create new Property command in the context menu.
Double-click a table cell to edit it.

The interface is created with its properties.

Define the Asset Mapping

Once you have defined the data sources and interfaces, you can define the asset mapping by linking interfaces and data source end points to assets.

From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Configuration Manager .

The Configuration Manager panel opens.
Click the Assets tab and click the pin to keep the Concept Content opened.
Click the Interfaces tab and click the pin to keep the Concept Content opened.
The two Concept Contents are kept open next to each other.
Select an interface and drag it onto the corresponding object in the Assets data table.

Tip: Multiselection is allowed.

A new row appears under the asset in the actual and planned views, with the interface and its properties.
Click the Data Sources tab and click the pin to keep the Concept Content opened.
The Data Sources content is kept open next to the others.
Select an end point and drag it onto the corresponding interface property in the Assets data table.

Tip: Multiselection is allowed.

Information on the data source and the data source end point is displayed in the value column.
Note: The information will be displayed in the actual or planned view depending on whether you choose to associate the end point with an asset of the actual or planned list.
