Defining B.I. Essentials

You can use the Configuration Manager panel to customize B.I. Essentials. This enables you to reveal the relevant object attributes in your experience.

Note: Modifications are directly taken into account.


Before you begin: Define the asset mapping.

Configuration Manager Commands
  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Configuration Manager .
    The Configuration Manager panel opens.
  2. Click the B.I. Essentials tab.
  3. Click the plus to create a new B.I. Essentials.
  4. Enter a name, then press Enter or click the check mark to validate the creation.
    A new row appears in the Concept Data table.
  5. Click the row of the newly added B.I. Essentials.
    The Tag Selection dialog box opens.
  6. From the Tag list, select a tag and click OK.
    The row with the default value row appears under the selected B.I. Essentials.
  7. Add one or more other values to the selected B.I. Essentials.

    1. Select the newly created B.I. Essentials row.
    2. Click the plus .
    3. Select Create new Value.

      A dialog box opens.

    4. Enter the required values.
      Note: The values depend on the type of the property defined for the interfaces. For more information, see Define Interfaces.
    5. Click OK to validate the creation.

      The row with the new value appears under the selected B.I. Essentials.

    6. Click the gray squares in the Value column to specify the color of each value.
    7. Repeat these substeps as many times as required.
    Tips:
    • You can also access the Create new Value command in the context menu.
    • Double-click a table cell to edit it.

  8. From the Analysis section of the action bar, click B.I. Essentials .

    Tip: You can drag one panel onto another to merge them into tabs of a single panel.

    The B.I. Essentials panel opens.

    The customized B.I. Essentials that you defined are available in the list.

  9. From the list, select the B.I. Essentials.
    Colors are applied to the corresponding object in the 3D area according to your specifications.
