Defining the Information Panel

You can use the Configuration Manager panel to customize the information displayed when using the Info On and Global Info commands.

Note: Modifications are directly taken into account.


Before you begin: Define the asset mapping.

  1. From the Authoring section of the action bar, click Configuration Manager .
    The Configuration Manager panel opens.
  2. Click the Information tab.
  3. Click the plus to create a new information.
  4. Enter a name, then press Enter or click the check mark to validate the creation.
    A new row appears in the Concept Data table.
  5. Click the plus in front of the newly created information to expand the tag information, then click the plus again in front of the Tags row.
  6. Specify the asset interface tag.

    Note: The tags in the list correspond to the defined interfaces. For more information, see Define Interfaces.

    1. Click the Asset Interface row.
      A dialog box opens.
    2. From the Asset Interface list, select a tag, then click OK to validate.
  7. Specify the object type tag.

    Note: The tags in the list correspond to the type of the objects (such as asset, issue, item).

    1. Click the Type row.
      A dialog box opens.
    2. From the Interface list, select a tag, then click OK to validate.
    This information is displayed in the Summary tab of the information panel when selecting an object of the defined type in the 3D area.

    For example, if you specify the Asset object type, the information applies to the asset interface that you selected at step 6 for all the asset objects mapped to that interface.

    Note: If you specify the Experience type, the information will be displayed in the Global Info panel.

  8. Define the URL.
    1. Click the URL row.
      A dialog box opens.
    2. Define a URL to display data retrieved from your servers.

      Note: It can be an image, a website, the asset serial number, etc.

    3. Click OK to validate.
  9. Define the Delay: double-click the cell in the Value column and enter a value.
    This information appears in the Details tab of the information panel.
  10. From the Analysis section of the action bar, click Info On .

    Tip: You can drag one panel onto another to merge them into tabs of a single panel.

    The customized information appears in the panel for the selected object.

The Info On panel updates itself automatically according to the object selected and the object's status over time.
