Using Multiple 3D Views

You can display multiple 3D View panels at the same time. This enables you to compare the build-up information of two objects.

The following task illustrates the case of two selected systems.

  1. To open the 3D View panel, click 3D View from the Authoring section of the action bar.
  2. To open the 3D View List panel, click List Shown in the 3D View panel.

    Tip: Drag one panel to the other to merge them into tabs of a single panel, or to dock one below the other.

  3. Select 3D View again to display a second 3D View panel.
  4. Press F3 to display the tree.
  5. In the tree, select one system.
  6. From one of the 3D View panels, select Lock Product BuildUp ON .
  7. In the tree, select another system.
    The 3D View panel whose selection is locked is not updated, while the other one displays the second selected system.
  8. To rotate or zoom both systems at the same time, drag one 3D View panel on top of the other to lock them together.
    If you rotate or zoom in the 3D Viewer of one panel, the same action happens in the 3D Viewer of the other panel.
